AJAX Overview

Features an integral engine – compressor with an overall mechanical efficiency of 95% as opposed to the 90% mechanical efficiency of the high speed compressor design

Single frame and crankshaft design results in fewer wearing parts. The two stroke design eliminates intake and exhaust valves, turbocharger, after cooler, camshaft and cam bearings, timing chain and gears, rocker arms, push rods, and valve seats.

Due to the piston timing, the air intake is pressurized 10 psi boosting the intake pressure without the need for a turbocharger.

Lower operating and maintenance costs.

Simple 2 stroke design with less downtime

Suited for remote sites and harsh conditions.

Lower brake horsepower per mcf than high speed compressors

Can tolerate a wide range of fuel gases.

Sour Gas Operation

Because of the unique design of the AJAX engine, the power cylinder and scavenging box are isolated from the crankcase. Therefore, combustion blowby cannot enter the crankcase and cause an acidic attack to the bearings and other components. Further, the AJAX engine has no intake or exhaust valves to be damaged by acidic attack. Because of its design, the AJAX engine can operate continuously with fuels having a hydrogen sulfide (H₂S) content of at least 3% by volume. An H₂S content greater than 3% needs to be approved.
